Kia Forte 2019-2024 (BD) Owner's Manual / Maintenance / Scheduled maintenance service

Follow the Normal Maintenance Schedule if the vehicle is usually operated where none of the following conditions apply. If any of the following conditions apply, follow the Maintenance Under Severe Usage Conditions.

  • Repeatedly driving short distances of less than 8 km (5 miles) in normal temperature or less than 16 km (10 miles) in freezing temperature
  • Extensive engine idling or low speed driving for long distances
  • Driving on rough, dusty, muddy, unpaved, graveled or salt-spread roads
  • Driving in areas using salt or other corrosive materials or in very cold weather
  • Driving in heavy dust conditions
  • Driving in heavy traffic areas
  • Driving on uphill, downhill, or mountain roads repeatedly
  • Towing a trailer or using a camper, or roof rack
  • Driving as a patrol car, taxi, other commercial use, or vehicle towing
  • Driving over 170 km/h (106 mph)
  • Frequently driving in stop-and-go condition

If your vehicle is operated in any of the prior listed conditions, you should inspect, replace or refill more frequently, using the severe usage maintenance schedule instead of the normal usage maintenance schedule.

The following lists are vehicle checks and inspections that should be performed by the owner or an authorized Kia dealer at the frequencies indicated to help ensure safe, dependable operation of your vehicle.

The following maintenance services must be performed to ensure good emission control and performance. Keep receipts for all vehicle emission services to protect your warranty.

Kia Forte 2019-2024 (BD) Owner's Manual: Recharging the battery

Your vehicle has a maintenance-free, calcium-based battery. If the battery becomes discharged in a short time (because, for example, the headlamps or interior lamps were left on while the vehicle was not in use), recharge it by slow charging (trickle) for 10 hours.

Kia Forte 2019-2024 (BD) Owner's Manual: Wheel alignment and tire balance

The wheels on your vehicle were aligned and balanced carefully at the factory to give you the longest tire life and best overall performance. In most cases, you will not need to have your wheels aligned again. However, if you notice unusual tire wear or your vehicle pulling one way or the other, the alignment may need to be reset.
