Repair procedures

Removal and Installation

Water Temperature Control Assembly

1.	Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

2.	Remove the engine cover. (Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "Engine Cover")

3.	Remove the engine room under cover. (Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")

4.	Drain the engine coolant. (Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")

5.	Remove the air cleaner assembly. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Air Cleaner")

6.	Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A).

7.	Disconnect the water temperature sensor connector (A).

8.	Disconnect the heater hose (A).

9.	Disconnect the water hose (A).

10.	Disconnect the turbo charger water hose (A).

11.

Remove the water temperature control assembly (A).

Tightening torque :

9.8 - 11.8 N·m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf·m, 7.2 - 10.1 lb·ft)

12.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

•	Clean the surface of the water temperature control assembly before installing.

•	Install a new O - ring when replacing the water temperature control assembly.

13.	Fill the engine coolant. (Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")

14.	Start the engine and check for leaks.

Water Pipe

1.	Remove the water temperature control assembly.

2.	Remove the intake manifold. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Intake Manifold")

3.	Disconnect the injector connectors (A).

4.	Disconnect the rail pressure sensor (RPS) connector (B).

Remove the water pipe (A).

Tightening torque

M6 bolt :

9.8 - 11.8 N·m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf·m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb·ft)

M8 bolt :

18.6 - 23.5 N·m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf·m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb·ft)

6.	Install in the reverse order of removal.
