
The sensor detects the distance to the vehicle ahead.
If the sensor is covered with dirt or other foreign matter, the vehicle to vehicle distance control may not operate correctly.
Always keep the area in front of the sensor clean.
To set vehicle to vehicle distance: This function allows you to program the vehicle to maintain a relative distance to the vehicle ahead without depressing the accelerator pedal or brake pedal.
■ Type A ■ Type B When the sensor lens cover is blocked with dirt, snow, or debris, the Smart Cruise Control System operation may stop temporarily.
1. Turn the ignition switch and all other switches off. 2. Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tab and pulling the cover up. 3. Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. To remove or insert the fuse, use the fuse puller in the engine compartment fuse panel.
Bulb replacement precaution Please keep extra bulbs on hand with appropriate wattage ratings in case of emergencies. Refer to the "Bulb Wattage" section in Chapter 8. When changing lamps, first turn off the engine at a safe place, firmly apply the parking brake and detach the battery’s negative (-) terminal.
