Repair procedures
| Removal and Installation |
| 1. |
Remove the rear wheel and tire (A).
|
| 2. |
Remove the rear brake assembly. (Refer to Brake System - "Rear Disc Brake") (Refer to Brake System - "Rear Drum Brake") |
| 3. |
Remove the trailing arm. (Refer to Rear Suspension System - "Trailing Arm") |
| 4. |
Remove the rear carrier assembly. (Refer to Driveshaft and Axle - "Rear Hub - Carrier") |
| 5. |
Remove the rear muffler. D 1.6 TCI-NEW U (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Muffler") G 1.6 MPI GAMMA (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Muffler") G 1.6 T-GDI GAMMA (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Muffler") G 2.0 MPI NU (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Muffler") |

Remove the rear stabilizer bar. (Refer to Rear Suspension System - "Rear Stabilizer Bar") |
| 7. |
Support the rear cross member (A) with a jack and then remove the rear cross member bolts and nuts.

| 8. |
Remove the rear cross member (A).
|
| 9. |
Install in the reverse order of removal. |
| 10. |
Check the wheel alignment. (Refer to Rear Suspension System - "Rear Alignment") |
| Insepction |
| 1. |
Check the bushing for wear and deterioration. |
| 2. |
Check the rear cross member for deformation.. |
| 3. |
Check for all bolts and nut |
| Disassembly |
| 1. |
Remove the rear upper arm (A) by loosening the bolt and nut (B).
|
| 2. |
Remove the rear assist arm (A) by loosening the bolt and nut (B).
|
| 3. |
Remove the lower arm (A) by loosening the bolt and nut (B).
|
| 4. |
Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly. |
