Repair procedures

Removal

[Gasoline 1.6 / Diesel 1.6 / Gasoline 1.6 T-GDI]

1.	Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

2.	Remove the air cleaner assembly and air duct. G 1.6 MPI (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner") D 1.6 TCI-NEW-U (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner") G 1.6 T-GDI GAMMA (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")

3.	Remove the battery and battery tray. G 1.6 MPI (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery") D 1.6 TCI-NEW-U (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery") G 1.6 T-GDI GAMMA (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")

Remove the engine control module (ECM).

G 1.6 MPI (Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - "Engine Control Module (ECM)")

D 1.6 TCI-NEW-U (Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - "Engine Control Module (ECM)")

G 1.6 T-GDI GAMMA (Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - "Engine Control Module (ECM)")

5.	Remove the fuel filter. [In case of diesel vehicle] (Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - "Fuel Filter")

Remove the snap pin (A) and then removing the clutch tube (B).

Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle it may damage the paint if brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it off immediately with water.

[Gasoline 1.6]

[Diesel 1.6 / Gasoline 1.6 T-GDI]

Remove the clutch tube bracket bolts (A).

Tightening torque:

7.8 - 9.8 N·m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf·m, 5.8 - 7.2 Ib·ft)

8.	Remove the snap pin (A).

9.	Remove the clutch tube (B) from the concentric slave cylinder and then removing the clutch tube assembly from the vehicle.

[Gasoline 2.0]

1.	Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

2.	Remove the air cleaner assembly and air duct. G 2.0 MPI (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")

3.	Remove the battery and battery tray. G 2.0 MPI (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")

4.	Remove the engine control module (ECM). G 2.0 MPI (Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - "Engine Control Module (ECM)")

Remove the snap pin (A) and then removing the clutch tube (B).

Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle it may damage the paint if brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it off immediately with water.

Remove the clutch tube bracket bolts (A).

Tightening torque:

7.8 - 9.8 N·m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf·m, 5.8 - 7.2 Ib·ft)

7.	Remove the snap pin (A).

Disconnect the clutch tube (B) from the clutch release cylinder, and then remove the clutch tube assembly from the vehicle.

Tightening torque:

12.6 - 16.7 N·m (1.3 - 1.7 kgf·m, 9.4 - 12.3 Ib·ft)

Installation

1.	Install in the reverse order of removal.

2.	After installing, fill reservoir with brake fluid and perform bleeding air procedure on clutch release cylinder. (Refer to Concentric Slave Cylinder Assembly - "Adjustment") [Gasoline 1.6 / Diesel 1.6 / Gasoline 1.6 T-GDI] (Refer to Clutch Release Cylinder - "Adjustment") [Gasoline 2.0]
